2020 Ford Explorer
Are you looking for a mid-size SUV that is ready for your next adventure? Meet the 2020 Ford Explorer. Whether you are planning a long road or an off-road adventure, this SUV handles it all while giving you and your friends or family a smooth ride.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
There are four trim levels of the Ford Explorer on the market for 2020: XLT, Limited, ST, and Platinum. As you approach the SUVs, you'll notice the side-view mirrors. They are powered with heated glass to help them stay clear regardless of the weather. The acoustic laminated glass in the windshield helps keep the outside sound out. There are roof-rack rails for additional storage on all four trim levels. For more sunlight, you can add the optional twin-panel moonroof that extends over the first and second row of seats.
Engine (Power)
There are two different engines for the 2020 Explorer. The XLT and Limited use an intercooled turbo 2.3-liter engine. It runs on regular fuel and creates 140 horsepower and 310 pounds-feet of torque in their front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models. For more power and speed, the ST and Platinum use a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine that runs on premium gasoline. The powerful engine produces 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. Both engines work with an automatic transmission with overdrive to give you a smooth ride regardless of the weather or road conditions.
Performance
The Explorer features a terrain management system that gives you more control over the road. You can select from seven different driving modes for normal driving, towing, or help through deep sand and snow. Your new SUV can tow up to 5,600 pounds with the proper equipment.
Interior
Once you step inside your new seven-passenger 2020 Ford Explorer, you'll find a stunning and spacious interior. The second and third-row bench seats fold flat if you need more cargo space. Don't leave anything at home for your next trip — the SUV includes a cargo management system that comes standard with the Class III towing package. It contains extra pockets on the side of the rear area for smaller items. There is also a storage bin for smaller items. You can even flip the floor over to a plastic floor to save carpets from muddy or wet items. In terms of technology, your new SUV includes an in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot that allows you to stay online while on the road. The SYNC 3 system will enable you to connect your mobile phone to your vehicle for access to your favorite apps, podcasts, and music on the road. You can also make hands-free phone calls and have your text messages read to you.
Safety Features
All four trim levels feature the Ford Co-Pilot 360 suite of safety features. Among this group of elements is intelligent adaptive cruise control. This feature helps pace your car as the traffic allows. It also enables you to stay in the center of your lane. It will recognize speed limit signs and let you change your cruise control speed accordingly.
